1947 Beech 35, N3877N
This aircraft had a gear collapse on roll-out of landing about 4 years ago.
- The fuselage damage is pretty well confined to the nose section. The nose bug and forward bulkhead have been repaired / replaced. The aft engine mount structure (doghouse) is disassembled, the right keel needs some repair. There is visible corrosion at misc. skin laps in aft fuselage. This work was being performed by Pioneer Aviation, at TIW.
- A replacement set of wings were obtained, minor repairs were made to them for serviceability here at AVSTAR. Location of original wings unknown. Included pair have been out of service for 10 years, so they will need bladders, etc.
- Most of the landing gear parts are accounted for, will need gear doors, nose wheel, and gear motor. All struts are disassembled, the nose gear "A-frame" appears to have corrosion.
- The original engine was removed for ground-strike inspection, we are currently trying to locate it. A spare E-185-11, condition unknown (consider a core), is part of this package.
- The Beech 215 electric propeller was repaired by Northwest Propeller Service; it has 84" blades. It has a polished spinner and the bulkhead halves are in good shape.
- Instrument panel is intact; condition of instruments unknown. Avionics include KX125 Nav-Com and AT50A Transponder, also condition unknown.
- Flight controls include 2 good aluminum ailerons; the flaps and ruddervators are original magnesium, and will need to be repaired.
- Interior / upholstery is included, condition 'worn'.
As apparent in above commentary, there are a few gaps to be filled or worked around. At the time of the gear collapse, the aircraft was uninsured, and the owner subsequently was collecting the pieces to make it fly again. Sadly, the owner made his final flight last year; we are trying to sell this project as a package for the family.
This would be a great collection of parts to combine with another aircraft to keep the fleet alive!
