I'm trying to learn everything I can about the Lycoming IO-360 M1A.

Hello, Mike

I'm trying to learn everything I can about the Lycoming IO-360 M1A.  Such as:
1.  Are there different versions of the M1A?
2.  If there are, what are the differences and are they interchangeable?
3.  What AC does the M1A apply to?
4.  Where can I find more knowledge about this engine?

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin:

Go to http://www.airweb.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgMakeModel.nsf/MainFrame?OpenFrameSet.  Enter 1E10 into search box.  (That is the type certificate number for a series of IO-360 engines under which falls the M1A.)
Next screen, click any one of the choices in the list.
Next screen, click on the model number.
Next screen, click on the PDF logo.  The type certificate will open, and tell you everything you need to know about any of the models built under that number, EXCEPT what aircraft it was used in.  Lycoming used to have a 'directory' of sorts, but it has been a long time since I even thought about that.  You might check their website.

Mike

Appreciate it Mike.  Have a great day.
